December 5, 2025

Match Summary
Rotherham dominated the game against Wolverhampton at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, leading 2-0 with a goal from Grace Cusworth and an own goal, before Wolverhampton forfeited the match after 60 minutes.

After a 2 1/2 hour journey the girls got the chance to play the game at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. They stepped up to the mark on this stage and dominated the game from start to finish. In tough conditions they created chance after chance and the scoreline should have been more. Some great attacking play and accurate passing meant that Rotherham created clear opportunities regularly. Grace Cusworth opened the scoring with a neat finish and she was about to tap in her second but a Wolverhampton defender got there first putting Rotherham 2-0 up at the break.

The game continued with the same flow in the second half with Rotherham creating regular chances to extend their lead.

In a strange set of events Wolverhampton had players who walked off the pitch after 60 minutes and refused to complete the match. With the pitch playable and the Rotherham girls wanting to continue there was no reason to stop. Following conversations between the referee and the Wolverhampton coach, Wolverhampton chose to forfeit the game.
