Match Summary
U15 Development secured a 6-1 victory against Rossington Main with standout performances from Zack West, who scored a hat-trick, and a Man of the Match display from Noah Mills, stepping in as centre back.
U15 Development beat Rossington Main 6-1.
After a close game against Rossington last weekend we expected more of the same this morning as we played them back to back.
We got off to a flying start when in the second minute, Elijah Omokaro dinked the ball over the head of a defender for Noah Coleman to slot home with a perfect strike.
With lots of positive possession we created chances and it wasn’t long before we doubled our lead. A pass inside from Denzell Gordon and a solid finish from Louis Gregory.
We looked good for our lead but later got caught when Rossingtons player ran onto the ball and chipped brilliantly over the keeper.
After going in at half time 2-1 up, the game was still close but as time went on the opponents seemed to tire. We took advantage of this and limited their attack to half chances.
As we had a bare eleven, I’d asked Zack West to be stripped just in case someone needed a couple of minutes rest and I put him on at half time. Shortly after, Noah played him in and Zack ran onto the ball with a good finish.
Elijah then went on one of his mazy runs and was brought down in the box for a penalty. As captain, he insisted that he take it and he passed the ball past the keeper to make it 4-1 and to really kill the game off.
We scored twice more, first when Elijah turned provider, the ball making its way for Zack to smash home from close range, then a sixth came when Jacob played the ball in. The keeper stopped and Zack didn’t, prodding in for a hat-trick.
Many really good performances under difficult circumstances. A very good debut from Elliott Stanley, and a brilliant performance from Theo in goal who followed my instructions to the letter.
Man of the Match went to Noah Mills who stepped into centre back to help the team, a faultless performance from him!
