The team delivered a solid performance and secured a deserved win over Sheffield with Corina Mbogba’s exceptional goal, despite missing further scoring opportunities.
A solid and professional performance which wasn’t reflected in the result as we should have won more comfortably. The team started well, picking up where they finished last week, creating some good chances early on but didn’t score. Then an outstanding piece of skill followed by a powerful strike from the edge of the box by Corina gave us the lead. We kept pushing forward and although Sheffield had spells of pressure they weren’t able to create any clear cut chances due to a solid performance from the midfield and defence.
In the second half we kept our shape well and hit Sheffield with several counter attacks, but couldn’t extend the lead. But we kept going and limited them to very few chances throughout the game. A solid performance and a deserved win.
