The boys secured a 7-3 victory against Staveley with standout performances from Zack West and Max Pattison, overcoming defensive challenges and capitalizing on key opportunities.
The boys got off to a great start, scoring on our first attack when Ollie Black slid Zack West through to slot home.
The lead lasted just five minutes as a through ball caught us out and the Staveley striker calmly tucked the ball past the keeper.
As the game settled down Max Pattison saw an opportunity to chase down the goalkeeper allowing him to take the ball from him and slot it through his legs. We finished the half strong and Noah Mills hit a thunderbolt from 25 yards to put us 3-1 up at half time.
In the second half we missed several chances and were punished when Staveley forced a second goal. We rode our luck when a superb free kick rattled our bar.
Max restored our 2 goal lead with a solid strike from a Jacob Watson corner found the net. Max then hit the crossbar before we were hit on the break and the referee gave Staveley a reall soft penalty which was converted well.
As we pressed to close out the game, a long direct ball from Theo in goal found Max who chipped the goalkeeper to make it 5-3.
Zack, who was carrying a knock then scored a towering header following another good corner delivery from Jacob. He quickly converted our seventh goal, brilliantly striking from the edge of the box with the game finishing 7-3.
There were some tireless performances from the lads today.
