Despite being down 5-0 at halftime with injuries, the team showed determination and passion in the second half, keeping a clean sheet and scoring two goals against a strong Wirral side, with goals from Imogen Street and Corina Mbogba.
A slow start and poor first 25 minutes meant we went in 5-0 down at half time. We were too open through the middle and Wirral took full advantage. We had three players with injury who despite there efforts to give it a go all came off in the first half an hour.
However, the girls addressed this at half time with an honest talk about their performance, and they set out to ensure they improved in the second half. They did this, closing down, battling and playing some good football against a very strong Wirral team. We kept clean sheet and managed to score 2 in reply as well. Pleasing to see this character as we showed determination and passion, ingredients we didn’t have at the start.
