In a challenging match against Doncaster on a difficult pitch, Rotherham girls drew 2-2, with standout performances from Lily J and Frankie, but were unable to secure the win despite a strong effort.

After a quick start with 2 goals from Lily j assisted by Sofia the girls unfortunately couldn’t find the third. On a terrible pitch with no marking and one end in near darkness was a hard game. A long throw from Doncaster wasn’t dealt with bounced over the keeper with a tap in at the back post 2-1 at half time. The girls weren’t at their fluid best rather rushed for their usual standards. A very soft free kick was awarded to Doncaster with 10 minutes left which the girl struck well and out of reach of the keeper. The girls continued to battle, press and play forward with a Congested goal area or the final ball over hit, just wasn’t our night. Not the start we hoped but a point on the board.
Girl of the game awarded by the referee was Frankie. Made an impact with her size and strength chasing hard, narrowly missing on a couple of occasions.
