ESFA Champions Cup – Plate Knockout
Good teams find different ways to win games of football. Last time out we were brilliant today we weren’t at our best, our football wasn’t great (apart from the odd patch), but the girls showed character all over the pitch and kept going. They did this when taking and saving penalties too, outstanding!
The game was attritional with neither team creating many chances. But our girls dug in and kept going. An outstanding solo effort from Cushy got us back to 1-1 early in the second half in it and determination from Keira to get first to the rebound got us the second to lead 2-1. Unfortunately we couldn’t hold on and the game finished 2-2 after normal and extra time. Four excellent penalties and two outstanding saves saw us win 4-2 in the shootout.
