Match Summary
The team secured a 2-0 victory against New Tupton, with goals from Zack West and strong performances from Will Bussell and Harry Blagg, despite being down to a limited squad due to injuries and illness.
The second of back to back fixtures against New Tupton saw the lads come away with a 2-0 win.
With several players returning to the team we were positive about the game but throughout the week we lost players to injury and illness and were again down to the bare bones.
This week, we controlled the tempo of the game, our opponents didn’t seem as aggressive and we pressed them early on.
A superb strike from Ben Saville was tipped onto the bar and we went on to miss several good chances. Zack West eventually put us ahead after a pass from Faiz Ababiaka put him into a good position.
We pressed hard in the second half and almost doubled the lead when Denzell Gordon rattled the post. The goal came following a through ball from Will Bussell and Zack smashed home.
The referee couldn’t split two players for Man of the Match so he chose them both. Well done to Will Bussell and Harry Blagg who both added energy and aggression in the middle of the park.
