In a strong performance against East Riding, the team secured a 3-0 victory with goals from set pieces by Loui, Max, and Freddie Mason, and a solid defensive effort ensuring no goals conceded for 290 minutes, leaving them one win away from advancing in The Champions Cup.
An excellent accomplished mature performance against a very strong East Riding team.
We asked the lads to go against our principles, play the conditions and be more direct. The lads carried out the instructions and got everything they deserved.
The first goal came from a set piece that despite been met by a fantastic header that was cut by Max, was cleared high into the sky, as the ball drop Harry met it on the volley that was blocked the ball fell to Loui who smashed a left foot strike that went in on the post to make it 1-0
Second goal again from a set piece from Freddie Robbo that was flicked on by Joey into Max’s path who smashed it in to make to 2-0 at HT
Second half we told the lads to make sure we don’t allow them back into the game. Despite East Riding having more of the ball the team defended as a team very well and anything that went past us was cleaned up by our GK Vinny who has now not conceded a goal for 290 minutes.
With just under 2 minutes left we broke away and a great through ball by Tyger fell into the path of Freddie Mason who left there defence behind and slotted into the bottom corner.
2 wins from 2 in The Champions Cup. Another win next week and we will advance from the group stage
