The match saw a dominant performance with Max Hogan’s perfect hat-trick and contributions from Freddie Robinson, Arthur Jackson, and others leading to a decisive 6-0 victory against Barnsley.
Scrappy start, becoming a regular thing, but a nice cross from a corner from Freddie Robinson met by Max Hogan on the left foot volley settled things down, followed by another corner goal from the same duo, this time a header to make it 2-0. We started to get hold of the ball more and closed down higher up the pitch which forced Barnsley to play long ball which we dealt with convincingly. A through ball over the defender from Arthur Jackson to Freddie Mason was met by a brilliant set of touches from Freddie to bamboozle the defence and slotted away our third goal. After half time the lads were confident and played much better football which led to us going 4-0 up from a free kick which Robbo whipped in and Max followed up as the keeper spilt it this time a right foot finish from Max to get his perfect hat trick. Our 5th goal came from Nate Green striking the crossbar from 25 yards out with Tyger Middleton following in to put it past the keeper. Finally a wonder strike from the newly signed Rotherham Academy midfielder Arthur Jackson with his supposedly weak foot made it 6-0.
