Despite challenging weather conditions and an early setback, the team improved in the second half, equalized through Imogen Street, and showed strong effort and resilience to dominate the remainder of the game.
Conditions definitely didn’t help in the first half and credit to the girls for battling through torrential rain. A sloppy start lacking energy meant we decided to make some early changes and it had the desired impact, getting us a foothold in the game. We discussed effort levels at half time and being to the ball first. Also, playing the conditions and keeping it simple.
Second half was better and we were unlucky to go 1-0 down. However, the girls stepped up, showed resilience and went back at Sheffield and deservedly got an equaliser. After that we were the only team who looked like going on to win the game. Credit to all the squad who had an impact on the game tonight. Everyone from the bench had a positive effect at different times in the game. ????
