In a thrilling match battling adverse weather, Rotherham’s Grace Cusworth scored a hat-trick to overturn a 2-0 deficit, but Hull equalized late to finish the game 3-3.
A wet and windy afternoon in Hull could have ruined the quality of football on display. However, both teams battled the weather and produced an excellent game with quality all across the pitch.
Rotherham started well but were undone by an outstanding finish by Hull on the counter attack and conceded again after 30 minutes. Being 2-0 down at half time was undeserved and didn’t reflect how well our girls played.
In the second half the team upped the tempo and scored three quick goals, with some excellent play and great finishing by Grace Cusworth who scored all 3.
Unfortunately we couldn’t hold on to the 3-2 lead and Hull equalised late in the game.
