U11s Development Team – Matlock Town Trojans

September 14, 2025

Our U11 Dev turned in an excellent performance after a slow start.

They created plenty of chances but were met by a very good goalkeeping performance as well as striking the woodwork a number of times. The slow start was costly but there were plenty of positives to take ⚽️

On a bright and sunny morning, RSS U11 Development side faced off against Matlock Town Trojans in a match that started off slowly, then continued work saw the lads get back into it yet it wasn’t enough

Despite a very sluggish opening period resulting in goals conceded, RSS U11 Dev soon found their rhythm.

The team came alive with energy and purpose, quickly taking control of the game and pinning Matlock back. The midfield began to dictate play, creating chance after chance with slick passing to the forwards and intelligent movement.

Though our goals took some time, it wasn’t for lack of effort. RSS rattled the woodwork on multiple occasions and forced the Trojans’ goalkeeper into a string of excellent saves. However, persistence paid off — the pressure was simply too much, and RSS finally found the back of the net.

The match continued in the same vein, with RSS showing dominance in both possession and territory. Defensively, they looked solid, snuffing out most of there counterattacks and recycling the ball efficiently but unfortunately it wasn’t our day.
